New Cadillac CT6 Hybrid Announced: Sophisticated Eco-Friendly Design
The Cadillac CT6 is known across the world as one of the hottest new luxury performance cars on the market. Adding to its impressive list of achievements, Cadillac has decided to go green with the new model. Shocking fans during the Shanghai Auto Show, the automaker announced that it would be making an eco-friendly hybrid version of the famous car.
The Cadillac CT6 Hybrid design will feature a Plug-in Hybrid Electric (PHEV) propulsion system, consisting of a high-power electric motor and turbo-charged engine. According to Cadillac, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will be mated to an Electric Variable Transmission to maximize economy.
“The first-ever CT6 is a technological showcase throughout, making it an ideal platform for Cadillac to offer its first plug-in hybrid,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. “In the CT6, Cadillac presents a new formula for prestige luxury. The advanced Plug-In Hybrid system is a key addition, providing a combination of exceptional fuel economy, crisp acceleration and strong electric-driving range.”
The CT6 hybrid is expected to at least double the fuel economy of the original model. Not only that, but thanks to innovative engineering it will also be capable of producing 335 hp and 432 lb-ft of torque. Even after going green, the CT6 will still be a contender on the racetrack.
