Fun Places to Go Off-Roading
Summer is almost here, which means there’s still time to plan your off-roading vacation. You don’t have to go abroad to find an out-of-this-world off-roading location. There are plenty of fun places to go off-roading in the United States. Here are some great off-roading destinations recommended by us here at Wayne Thomas Chevrolet.
Located in California, Hollister Hills is a State Vehicular Recreation Area in the mountains that separate Hollister from Salinas Valley. The area features a massive 24 miles of trails that offer a challenge for both beginner and experienced off-roaders. There’s even a man-made obstacle course known for its tough terrain. A mud bog brings in large crowds on the weekends, just in case you want an audience. Just beware of wet trails, as many are impassable after rainfall.
Arguably one of the most well-known off-roading locations in the United States, Moab is often used as the testing ground for new off-roading vehicles. The iconic destination features a wide variety of trails and tough terrain makes for a great adventure. Some trails have been closed to off-road vehicles due to overuse. Guided trail tours are available.
Redneck Yacht Club
The Redneck Yacht Club is located in Punta Gorda, Florida and stretches a massive 800 acres. There are three mud holes, a mud track, camping, and more. Drivers will enjoy a vast selection of trails, mudding areas, and a drive-thru wash when the day is done.
