New Cadillac Fuel Economy Technology: Saving You Money
Cadillacs are known for their refined luxury designs and their high-tech features. Now, the brand is seeking to add fuel-saving technologies, making Cadillacs some of the most efficient sedans on the market.
Features like Active Fuel Management and Auto Start/Stop are among the most significant changes that we’ll see, according to Cadillac. The brand will also use an eight-speed transmission to help reduce emissions and increase gas mileage. Fewer stops at the pump are always a good thing.
“While these new systems increase efficiency, a main focus in engineering at Cadillac is to integrate these systems smoothly with no compromise to the driving experience,” says David Leone, Cadillac executive chief engineer. “Our new eight-speed transmission was developed internally for fast and smooth shifting in every situation with Cylinder Deactivation and Start/Stop are integrated in a more seamless manner than our competitors.”
Cadillac fuel economy technology will be featured on the new CTS-V, CTS, and ATS, among other models. The Escalade will also get some unique upgrades, such as advanced optional technology that switches on and off cylinders, using four cylinders or eight cylinders depending on the situation.
